I was excited to try Dario after seeing it all over social
I was excited to try Dario after seeing it all over social media and made a reservation for two in the evening. I arrived right on time, checked in, and was asked to wait while the host confirmed if my table was ready. After a few minutes, she returned but began checking in guests behind me without giving me any update. When I asked another employee about my table, he rudely said, "she said 15 minutes," even though no one had told me that. Both hosts came across as dismissive and unhelpful, which set a negative tone right from the start. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes until my friend arrived late and, upon checking in, was immediately told our table was ready. It felt like I had been completely forgotten. Once seated, our server gave us menus and left, which was normal. When she came back, however, she just stood there silently--not smiling, not offering drinks, and not asking for our order. We eventually realized she was waiting for us to start ordering. When I asked if we could begin with drinks, she said "yes" in a tone that felt a bit condescending. The same awkwardness carried over when we placed our food order, making the whole interaction uncomfortable. Another odd detail was that the staff seemed to stand in a line near the kitchen and watch the dining room. From where I was sitting, it felt like I was being stared at the whole time. Their presence came across as both unsettling and judgy, almost as if they were evaluating diners rather than serving them. The whole effect reminded me of the movie The Menu. On the positive side, the food was delicious, though I found it overpriced for the portions. The décor was cute but leaned toward tacky given the menu pricing. I ordered the Strozzapreti with blue crab, but it only had one very small piece of crab. Overall, while the food was good, the rude hosts, awkward service, and uncomfortable atmosphere made the experience feel strange and unwelcoming.

Despite the cheekiness of the dude who tried to seat us in Siberia at the bar, we enjoyed the pasta at Dario. The guy led us from the check-in desk to two rear seats at the end of the bar, even though there were a ton of seats in the middle. I pleaded with him not to seat us at the end and asked for seats in the middle of the bar. He frowned and sat us where I had requested, then said sarcastically, "Maybe you will enjoy yourself." I have no idea what he meant. He was scornful of our age, so screw him, but I hope someone throws him out on his butt for his arrogance. He shouldn't be working with the public. The pasta is always great at Dario, and it's a wonderful restaurant despite the jerk at the front.
Sloppy
Service very disappointing. The waiter barely gave attention to us, often looking through us. He was tall in stature, small in performance. Food only decent as pasta creamy and pork chop chewy. This is contrast to previous visit. We are reluctant to visit again, pricey and not worth it.

I've been a regular customer here for the past year and a half and have always had great experiences--until tonight. I had a reservation with friends, and as soon as we walked in, the host Borna pulled me aside and told me I had canceled a reservation back in March 2024 and again in July 2025. I had actually called to cancel, so it wasn't a no-show. However, they said they tried to charge a $150 cancellation fee to my old card on file and couldn't process it. What really bothered me was how it was handled. Bringing this up the moment I walked in with my guests felt extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. It could've been addressed privately, or at least at a more appropriate time--not right at the door in front of everyone. If it had just been me and my husband, we honestly would've left. But we were a party of six, and I didn't want to make things uncomfortable for our group. I've supported this restaurant many times, but after this experience, I'm really disappointed. I hope they reconsider how they handle situations like this moving forward.
Too darn noisy.
Great food. Too noisy. Wait staff too casually dressed for an expensive restaurant Some waiters had long beards. Felt it not sanitary. We will not return because of the noise. No monitoring of noisy groups.
Food was so good.
We had the tuna, the gem lettuce, the potatoes, and the carrots to start. I'd order all of them again except for the carrots! Then doppio and strozzapreti for mains. The doppio is still making my mouth water thinking about it here the next day. Literally so good it's gets all my five stars.
Good food, all about the vibes
Teen saw this spot on tiktok, I was wary but up for an adventure. Looks very cool, definitely a scene. Dining room was very loud, as others have mentioned. Got a veggie, 2 pastas, and dessert to share for two. Really liked the pasta dishes! Could have skipped dessert. Would go back for pasta, maybe try for patio seating.
First off this place is gorgeous.
But not pretentious. I went alone so they sat me at the bar. Bartender was friendly and kind. Cocktail list is great but mine was a tiny bit too sweet for me. Lots of wine by the bottle and glass. Their menu changes a lot but I will still mention what I ordered. I had the hiramasa crudo, the cucumbers, and the doppio pasta. Had the mango sorbet for dessert. Everything was insanely good. I haven't had a meal out this good in years. Perfectly balanced flavors. I'm impressed. I will definitely be back, and am excited to try more on the menu!

Had a reservation, arrived early, and was sat early. Loved the menu options. Would definitely recommend the gem lettuces and spicy rigatoni. Amazing with allergies!!! I thought the portions were huge. Cons: Tables are extremely close together. You will hear your neighbors' conversations. Lemonade was not lemonade, it was carbonated?
Great food, but the music is very loud hard rock. Not at all conducive to an enjoyable meal. When we asked to turn the volume down we were told that it was necessary fir the “vibe” of the place.

We came to Dario to celebrate 2 birthdays. First, the food was very good. We ordered a few appetizers to share. Roasted beets, carrots and potatoes. All were really excellent, especially the roasted beets! We also shared 4 entrees. We had the halibut, which was not that great, too dry. We had the rigatoni, squid ink linguine and the Doppio which were really delicious. The squid ink linguine was my least favorite of the 3 but it was good. They restaurant comped a dessert for the birthdays, which was super lovely. I wasn't thrilled with the table placement by the opening patio door, but it's on me because I didn't say anything. Also, when I ordered a Titos dirty martini the server said okay and failed to mention they didn't have Titos. My husband figured that out when she told him the gins they stock and he clarified the vodka. They did serve a very good vodka but she should have told me immediately when I ordered a Titos. I would certainly recommend but I am not 100% sure I would return.

I usually don't write reviews on restaurants we go to but after 6 or 7 tries @ Dario we are NOT going back. The first time we went the reservation, food, service was marginal at best. The manager coaxed us back with free drinks and deserts - so we brought friends back and had a better experience. Tonight, we brought friends again, had same waiter - but getting drinks takes 20 minutes, no bread (because it needs to be made in house and they don't offer it) everything like a side of pasta or anything you request -is a NO from the kitchen. I had to "shout" the waiter down to get another glass of wine, I have asked for salt & pepper from several staff and it never shows up. These servers & the manager are merely going thru the motions, very pleasant but pay only lip service &" do NOT take care of their customers". This is not a cheap place, we all concluded we are "Done with Dario", there are too many other good choices in the city and we are tired of the service roller coaster and "attitude" of this place.
Expensive and Small Portions
Parking is tricky on a Saturday night, so plan on using the $15 valet option. The inside eating area is busy and quite noisy as the ceilings are not finished. There were 4 in our party and we had a reservation for 6:30. Our drink order took quite a while to be delivered to our table. We ordered 3 vegetable dishes to share and 4 entrees to share. They tell you right away that your food will come out as it is ready and not all together. Since we were sharing dishes that was not a problem. For vegetables we ordered the roasted carrots (which come cold), the roasted beets, which were very good with two different kinds of beets (served cold) and the charred snap peas and radishes (served warm) with “really good butter” that was really good. They cleared our silverware and dishes and brought us fresh settings for the pasta entrees. We tried Cacio e Pepe Scarpinocc. It was delicious, but one came with 7 pieces of pasts, so not enough for each person to have two. We had Doppio, which was a little bit more generous with the portions and delicious. The Beef Short Rib and Polenta Agnolotti had the filling texture of cat food as the meat filling was pureed. It tasted fine, but the texture was not appetizing. We also had the Ricotta Anolini and it was wonderful. Even our non-asparagus eater liked the pasta. An order of Cake and Ice Cream was shared for a small dessert. We all had enough to eat, but by no means felt we were overly full. The menu is more about small batch quality and presentation. For two drinks per person and the rest of our meal selections (and valet parking) our total bill was $420.
Extraordinary Pasta
The pasta at Dario is extraordinary. When we go, we just order a bunch of pasta plates and share them. They do a great job. Also, the potatoes are fantastic. I don't like to go to Minneapolis very much, but I go to eat at Dario
Disappointing and overpriced
Was looking forward to an upscale modern Italian experience. Sadly the mark was missed on multiple fronts. Our white asparagus appetizer was supposed to have a truffle vinaigrette but it was nowhere on the dish. The asparagus was also somewhat tough and fibrous. The sunchoke pasta was well made but large pieces of fried rosemary was off putting. The orchiette pasta was very chewy and way too thick. For the prices I was expecting much more. It is also very loud and I found it challenging to be heard across the table. Finally this has to be the first Italian restaurant that does not offer bread. There was no ability to enjoy the last bits of sauce. Finally when concerns were expressed they were not acknowleged or addressed.
Just Do It !
Wow! Just go here. Such fresh vegetable dishes and pastas !! We loved the beef tartare with the fresh mint leaves. We liked the Doppio ( double ) pasta the best, followed closely by the wild mushrooms pasta. If you want a larger portion, go for the Spicy Rigatoni. Our server Sonya was the best at recommending an Italian wine and the entres to get. Already planning our return.

Great Dinner with my son! We just returned from a trip to Italy (Tuscany) and the pasta here was just as good. Try the short rib pasta. Absolutely amazing!

Moving on to the pasta courses, the doppio pasta was a standout. Filled with sunchoke, ricotta, and topped with honey, hazelnuts, and rosemary, it had an incredible depth of flavor, with the honey adding a slight sweetness that played so well with the nuttiness of the hazelnuts. The textures in each bite were satisfying and delightful. Finally, the short rib and polenta agnolotti was rich and hearty, with the polenta adding a creamy, earthy note that paired perfectly with the tender short rib filling. The cocktails complemented everything wonderfully, with balanced flavors that didn't overshadow the food but elevated the entire experience. From start to finish, Dario left an impression of thoughtful, beautifully executed dishes. If you're looking for a memorable meal in Minneapolis, Dario is a place you won't want to miss!

* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Dario Minneapolis to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Dario Minneapolis!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
