Nobu Del Coronado Reviews
Vastly overrated and living off former glory.
The food was inconsistent some of it pretty wonderful other dishes lack luster and anodyne. The setting is gorgeous. The prices eye watering and the portions microscopic. Service was good not great and a little strange our waiter was very animated and got more so as the evening wore on. I guess if you're a tourist with a massive budget why not? Otherwise there are better choices available with a little digging.
Food: the food was on point.
The uni, was fresh and waygu tacos were tasty. I would not do the recommended nobu cold dish again, it was kinda salty (don't remember the exact name but it has Nobu at the end). Service: I took out one star because the host was rude. She didn't even smile or said hi to us. I have never seen that before. The chefs didn't greet you the same way Japanese chefs greet you lol. They were not as friendly for some reasons. The bright side is that waiters know their stuffs. Our waiters were nice and provided amazing service and deserved the tips.
I'm so excited to be at this new Nobu location at the Hotel
I'm so excited to be at this new Nobu location at the Hotel Del Coronado! The vibes and great and so is the food ESPECIALLY the new style sashimi and spicy tuna on spicy tuna, crispy rice deconstructed. Frankie was our server and she's so GREAT! We had a table with an ocean view and the best sashimi ever!! They opened in May 2025 and this is my first time here.
Nobu at the Hotel del Coronado is an open air restaurant
Nobu at the Hotel del Coronado is an open air restaurant overlooking the Windsor Lawn and the Main Beach. There is a small indoor dining area with a sushi bar and a larger outdoor dining area with a covered bar. The restaurant opened in May 2025 and was very busy when we arrived at 5pm on a Saturday. The food and service were excellent. Our server Jeffrey was awesome! He was friendly, attentive and helpful answering our questions and making suggestions. They also have an extensive saki wine list. We were celebrating our anniversary and Jeffrey surprised us with two glasses of champagne. A very nice gesture. We had the miso sea bass which was very good but the miso black cod was our favorite. The Okinawan purple potatoes and fried okra were delicious. We also had spicy tuna, eel/avocado and spicy scallop cut rolls. All were very fresh and flavorful. We were told the menu is more limited than the Nobu in downtown San Diego due to the smaller kitchen. I highly recommend Nobu del Coronado if you enjoy Japanese cuisine with a wonderful view.
This was my first time at a Nobu.
All in all the food was good. The miso cod was exceptional but everything else was good. The crispy rice tuna was good, it was disassembled and I would've preferred it be put all together but it was kinda fun. The wagyu dumplings were alright. I got the wagyu tacos and tuna tacos, these were both really good but small portions. We got the tuna carpaccio which was good but not amazing. The service was okay, but slow.
You're kidding right? Maybe I don't belong at Del Coronado
You're kidding right? Maybe I don't belong at Del Coronado or maybe this place really has an ego. The bartender tells us everything is family style (meaning shareable) so I'm thinking like Buca de Bepo style portions . The taco appetizer should be called a teaser. They were about as big as my thumb. They were shareable only because there were two of them. The sirloin was delicious but again just enough to make you more hungry...... and the total? With two drinks $180 before tip......
I have been wanting to try Nobu forever.
It did not dissapoint! Everything I put in my mouth was beyond delicious!!! My taste buds were dancing!! This place is super expensive... but its worth every penny!!!
Let me start off by saying that this Nobu location makes
Let me start off by saying that this Nobu location makes you feel like you just transported to a small island in the tropics. GORGEOUS! Half outdoor, half indoor & the weather was amazing. Our service was outstanding, we had such a large group & had accidentally miscounted, however they were able to accommodate all of us in a matter of minutes. Our server GIO was so kind, quick, knowledgeable & accommodating. 5 stars for service because service was amazing. (the quality of Service is right up there with food quality.) Food. PHENOMENAL. There's definitely some long standing items on the menu that are popular & I have never gotten tired of. (Details in pics) unfortunately I did not get to capture pics of all food items. But top plates, miso cod, mushroom salad, rock shrimp, tuna tacos, & tuna crispy rice. The only thing I will say is for this location it is pricier than most locations around the US. Overall worth it! 5/5!

Dissapointed.
Medium to average. Quality of fish was average. Not what we expected for a Nobu. Wont be back to this one. We have been to several Nobuโs and have had great sushi, this was very much below our expectations for a Nobu.
Great night
Went to dinner and used the valet service for parking. Was very easy and efficient. Brian helped us out and was very attentive. Would definitely recommend this parking garage for anyone who would like an easy walk to town. It was very close to everything.
Another tasty experience at Nobu San Diego
The San Diego Nobu location always provides consistently fresh products and meal is prepared to highest Nobu expectations. My personal favorite is the yellowtail jalapeรฑo, Salmon was also extremely fresh. Lychee martini always very tasty.

The valet service was prompt, professional, and friendly. It set a perfect tone for the evening. Brian helped us out very quickly. We then went to dinner at nobu and the experience was equally fantastic, with great food, attentive service, and a warm ambiance.
Valet was great!
Used the valet here on my way to dinner and they were quick and efficient. Brian was very attentive. Would recommend to anyone who want quick parking and nice conversation. Picking up our car was just as fast and we really appreciated the service given.
Three of us sat down for dinner. I made reservations and we were seated right away. The service was excellent
Fantastic first experience, we were all very happy with the quality of the food. So good and tender. I referred otherscv
Once and done
We were staying at the Hard Rock hotel so decided to try Nobu. The music in the restaurant was extremely loud so people are having to yell over the music and then the servers were trying to yell over everything. too loud and chaotic. I could not even hear our server. The food is good, but nothing special, especially for the price.
Donโt drive downtown SD at night. Massive traffic
Downtown SD was a complete madhouse. Could not find reasonable parking or get around because of massive traffic everywhere. Never got to the restaurant. Had to go elsewhere.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Nobu Del Coronado at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Nobu Del Coronado page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Nobu Del Coronado to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Nobu Del Coronado!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
