I've been here a few times now and have always had a good meal. Some of the food I am not too familiar with, so I can't review on the stuff I haven't tried, but from what I've had, it's pretty good. The Thin Dan-Dan Mian is my favorite! I didn't think I would like cold noodles, but it's so good! I did not like the Three-Cup dishes, but I think that is just a personal preference. I have yet to try their Baozi which sound delicious. The dumplings were very flavorful and I liked the different color wrappers. I also like how they are colored naturally and not with food coloring. Service here is hit or miss. We have had excellent service here and absolutely horrible service on other nights. So I only docked one star for that. The restaurant can get pretty busy, especially on weekends. Make sure to plan ahead on busy nights, although the wait for a table hasn't been too long.

I really enjoyed my visit to **Royal China Restaurant** in Dallas. The hand-pulled noodles and dumplings were fresh and full of flavor--I especially liked the dan dan noodles and soup dumplings. The atmosphere was cozy, and it was fun to see the chefs making noodles by hand. It's a great spot for tasty and authentic Chinese food.

The menu is extensive and haven't tried everything.
The egg rolls are excellent. We love the specialty menu of dry fried beef. We went as a group of 8 and we all sampled each others entrees. All were delicious. This is our number one favorite restaurant for Chinese cuisine. You won't be disappointed.

I returned last Saturday night, and it was one of my best experiences at Royal China. Everything from the eggroll size and flavor to the wonderful pork dumplings was awesome. My noodles were great, and the server could not have done better. Very attentive and everything came out correctly, and my water and iced tea were never less than half full before someone refilled my glass. There is a night and day difference from the last time I was there. What a difference. I am delighted.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dumplings and various entrees our table of 3 shared with each other. Loved the variety and flavors of each entree. Loved the vegetarian options as well. Service was fine and restaurant table spacing was not too crowded. Will return.

Great soup dumplings! They only offer reservations for groups of six people or more, so there may be a wait during peak times. The soup dumplings are great along with the bao buns and fried rice. The servers are efficient, and food is brought out quickly. Overall, this is a great spot for Asian cuisine.

This appears to be a staple of Americanized bland food for the more mature crowd. So very disappointed. First for the good. It's nestled in this beautiful shopping strip of great stores. The decor is appropriate and service is prompt. Started off with the pork dumplings. The pork was pink (was it really pork tho? It was dry) and meekly flavored with raw onions. No dipping sauce just presented in a wicker basket steamed. Next up the chicken lettuce wraps. Pale bite size chicken with hints of mushroom and onion with lettuce leaves on the side. Came with a container of extremely thick oyster sauce. The taste was a step up from the previous dish. But still below average. Left feeling disappointed. Will not be back.
Tasty Chinese food and great dumplings/noodles.
Take out very well run. A little loud inside as it is always full. I do take out more than I dine in.

Heard this has been a landmark in Dallas for years so tried
Heard this has been a landmark in Dallas for years so tried it the other day with my daughter. unfortunately, it was OK not great. Could pretty much find the exact same rice and noodles anywhere else in town. maybe they were having an off night so I'll try it again down the road.
Best Asian food in town!
This is our favorite spot for Chinese in the DFW metroplex! We dined in without a reservation on a weeknight the week of Christmas. There was a 30 minute wait, but we would gladly wait an hour us if we had to. The food, service, and atmosphere are 10/10 every time! Love the egg drop soup, avocado wontons, and other appetizers. Our favorite dish is the dry stirred beef - excellent every time. My husband also orders the egg foo young every time - with meat or veggies, delicious. This time we had the salt and pepper shrimp which was a bit spicy, light breading, delicious. I canโt say enough, if youโre a local or in from out of town this is a must have meal when in Dallas!
Take out
Went to Royal China for to go, use to go quite a bit food was pricey but good. Today food was bland and not all that.
Not as expected
We ordered a variety of items since this was our first visit. For appetizers, we got pork buns and soup dumpings. Both were okay, but we'd only order the dumplings again. Next was the hot and sour soup. It was bad. My wife thought it tasted like a barnyard smells. The egg roll was greasy and flavorless. Lastly came the shrimp with lobster sauce. It was okay, but it was one dimensional. The food was pricey as well. Excellent service.
Great Food
One the best Chinese food places in Dallas. Been coming here for years. Recommend the wonton soup, handmade noodles, egg rolls and duck.
Outstanding New Years Eve Dinner
Royal China is always packed and always a lovely event. We had a reservation for 6 (good play all around) and had the Salt and Pepper Fish, Crystal Shrimp, dried beef, hand-pulled noodles, dumplings, green beans with chicken and green tea ice cream. Everything was wonderful. I'll be back for lunch sometime in the next couple of weeks and I know the food and the service will be just as spot-on for the lunch crowd as well. In our opinion, and we have been here several years, one of the best restaurants in town.
No Flavor
So, I was craving Moo-shoo Pork. I found this place online and decided to try it. I placed an order over the phone for myself and my 2 co-workers. They ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Chicken Lomein. We all asked for spicy. Kung Pao chicken was too spicy, and the other 2 orders were not spicy at all. We had to keep adding soy sauce to add some kind of flavor. The soups were also lacking in flavor. The only thing I devoured was the egg roll. Plus, the woman at the counter who took my money was less than friendly. Not even a "thank you" and when I asked her for chili oil, she lowered her voice and said that it would be $1 each additional. Now, I eat a lot of Asian food, and never have I heard such nonsense. Sometimes it's thrown in my to-go bag without me even requesting it. I don't know how this place was so busy. Must be location. Much better options for a lunch that cost me $17.32 that I barely touched. Won't be back.
