The Grill - im Künstlerhaus München Reviews
Quite good food and very friendly staff are the highlights
Full, but the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent and the wine selection was excellent. I didn't like the seating arrangement with benches and chairs. However, it seems to be quite practical. There was also an English menu, which made translating obsolete for the international guests. The restaurant is rather expensive and a bit too cramped for my taste with too many tables. I would rate the noise level as unusually high.
Top Munich city view restaurant
The atmosphere is very romantic with a view of the city. The steaks tasted fabulous and the excellent starters and wines were delicious. The service was friendly. We really enjoyed it.
Price-performance ratio underground
Steaks (90 euros for 2) were not cooked as ordered. The entire main course was cold, it had simply been in the kitchen for too long. Bearnaise sauce was not tasty. The aperitif took 20 minutes. Service was attentive but not as professional as you would expect for a bill of almost 300 euros. When asked about the occasion when making the online reservation - birthday stated - a window seat was requested. This could not be accommodated. Music too loud. Annoying meal.
Not a good experience
Waited a good half hour for the starter. Another half hour + for the main. We told them we do not need the ordered espresso anymore after 20min. The Austrian Rib Eye was amazing, the Wagyu was not worth it and any other filet would have beaten it by far in texture, taste and softness. We mentioned it to the waiter after he asked us, how we like it, who answered they do not mix up anything in the kitchen and went off again. Ambience is very good though. Over all, never again
Nice place
After decades and probably multiple owner changes and renovations, we went to the Kuenstlerhaus again. Upstairs is a nice restaurant with good food and good service. Especially the meat was extremely good for Europe. Otherwise, nothing particularly outstanding, but solid … although for such maybe a little pricy.
Awful Service
Absolutely awful service, especially given the prices they ask for and the aspirations to be a "luxury establishment". Food is mediocre and not worth the money. To be avoided at all costs.
Terrible and arrogant service, not great or wow food
We went after work with our team for dinner to this restaurant yesterday. The service was from the outset slow and arrogant. It took the waiter 10 minutes or more to actually come by and ask for any aperitif which then took another 10 minutes to come to the table. The restaurant was not busy at all during that time. When I asked for clarifications on the menu items, I got told that all is good, and no customizations would be needed. I inquired about mayonnaise with the carpaccio and was not even offered to have it taken off or being provided on the side. I also asked for the filet cooked medium to medium well and got told that was not possible. I have never been provided with such an answer at a steak house that claims to be excellent. There were more issues such as the meals served to the wrong person and then the wait staff to be lectured in front of our table by the extremely arrogant waiter on duty. The food itself was ok but certainly not a wow at all and extremely overpriced for what is being provided. I would neither come back to this restaurant nor recommend anyone to visit. Other steak houses (even chains such as the Block House) provide much more professional service and food at par or better quality.
Bad experience
Got the buffalo steak and was super gamey! Told the waiter and he did nothing about it. Was a $73 steak!
